It began around 6am (5am UK time) this morning. I got up in a rush to see it & was dressed in the simplest of attire but with the temp at -2°C.... I was in brass-monkey territory.
Anyway, it was supposed to be a blood moon but unfortunately I must have been in the wrong location or I didn't stay long enough (I had to give up after 20 minutes) I took some crappy photos so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

I woke at 5am for a pee, then watched for a while from the kitchen window, but saw no eclipse or redness. The moon did look atmospheric though, above the trees with wispy cloud blowing across its face.

It was my normal time for my morning walk (after 2 hours of physio type exercises) ... bright moonlight at 4am, same at 5am but full b*st*rd cloud at 6am! Saw nothing but a blood red streak of dawn on the opposite side of the sky!

Didn’t really go red for me, and at full eclipse it had slid low to the west anc it disappeared into icy fog.

It was too cold to muck about with changing the 6x telephoto on the iPhone to a 2x and I was rapidly losing sight so here’s the best I could do.

Sunrise was lovely though :)

It was just below the horizon here when you posted!

It’s somewhere low down behind the trees now.

Have to admit I watched a Mexican web site from the comfort of my bed. What I found surprising was the way it crept up slowly then jumped in 5 or 10 degree steps...... I may have dosed off once or twice !!!
