No, it's just tight weaving.

She's done a cracking job on that, my mate made me a couple and once they softened up through use the were cracking leads, and though never needed having that amount of extra cord about was a great idea on trips.

How long did that take? I have wanted to make one as a lot of my family have dogs but I haven't got round to it yet. I am currently working on a belt which is going to use 100ft of cord, its two lengths side by side weaved together as I go which is surprisingly tedious, I have spent hours on it and I am only 2/3 of the way through and I still dont know how I am going to taper the end.

How long did that take?

The lead is 1.5 meter long. It's made from 23 meter paracord and according to the missus she spent about 3 hours all in all.
