if the stuff is rea and not so e elaborate joke I missed will we one day by mixing a lightweight powder with river water to run our stoves off? Seams a bit unlikely to me...

Interesting.. I'll have to dig out some of my old science fiction paperbacks, I'm pretty sure powdered alcohol got mentioned in one of Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat series.

No it's completley true and not a joke. I found out about it last year or maybe year before. Been waiting ages for news on it's release.

Originally they had the green light in USA and UK afaik but when some of their private non-public promo pages where accidentally made live they were refused approval. Problem was that they had written some test promo page with things about been able to sneak it into sporting events and also snorting the powder etc.

I'm hoping eventually that they get the go ahead in at least one country.

Joking aside it does look interesting, especially if the military do take it up and it becomes a surplus item like hexi.

I doubt mixing it with water would give you a high enough percentage of alcohol to burn well.
