Hi All,

Got the chance to escape for a quick overnighter with a mate yesterday and thought id share a few pics.

The weather was mostly warm but overcast despite the threatened rain and after getting dropped off by swmbo it was a pleasant couple of mile hike to the site.

First i set up my new hooped bivi which took all of 5 mins, im still not sure quite how waterproof it is but having found mixed reviews on t'internet i went for the safe option of having a tarp up which would also have been a larger shelter if the heavens opened.
Once the sleeping bag is in it also makes a very comfy chair.

Whilst i was waiting for my buddy to arrive i decided to whittle a basic spoon for the pot and a few blanks for him to have a go on later.
All went well until the 3d time he cut himself with the spoon knife and he decided to call it a day with carving.

got dinner on the go in the new MSR stowaway pot which is exactly the right size to fit my woodgas. I took along a small bag of compressed wood catlitter (as has been mentioned on here recently) and got just under an hours burn time out of it.
Dinner was pasta, dehydrated veg and some pre-cooked gammon mixed in.
Water took only a few minutes to come to a rolling boil and i actually had to take it off the heat a few times but it turned out quote well.

i sort of forgot about the camera from this point but spent most of the evening chilling out and enjoying the peace and quiet.

Got up about 06:30 this morning ruing the decision to leave my roll mat at home as i struggled with the cold during the night so decided a nice hot breakfast was in order.
I had made up some boil in the bag all day breakfast with a vacuum sealer thingy which just fitted in the pot and went down a treat, im sorry to say i was using a titanium and not a pink plastic "Fenna".

And that as they say was the, a short hike back to the car and back home for a shower and an afternoon nap.

Hope you enjoy them.
