I went to my local car boot sale today and bought one of these:http://www.csm-leisure.com/Outbound-85-Litre-Rucksack-DPM
for £6 brand new. I cant find a review anywhere on it. Anyone know about these?

I have had one of those kicking around for 15 years or more, in olive, it doesn't get much use so hard to tell you how it fairs with regular use, at some point over the years a couple of zips broke, considering how little use it's had I think they are pretty poor quality.
For that price you can't go wrong, apart from the zips I can't really fault it, not sure how comfortable it would be with a lot of weight in over a decent distance either.

They used to be really popular with young folks doing the 10 Tors either in blue or OG with a few of the Cadets etc having a DPM one... My experience is that they were reasonable but the clips tended to break a lot. There must be hundreds of broken clips all over Dartmoor. Also I can remember pulling the shoulder straps off of one as we were chucking it in the back of a Rover when we were evacuating some kids off of one of the TT check points...as the link says ideal as a Starter pack... Mist of the kids by the time they got to TT 45 + 55 had moved onto a Berghaus or Karrimor....But for 6 quid can you go that wrong....

Looks very similar to the 'Equador' rucksack I bought from Oswald Baileys in Bournemouth 20 plus years ago. Its not the most comfortable pack I ever owned (the hip belt was pretty minimal), but its still perfectly useable even now, even after a fair amount of use.

You can't go wrong for £6 (£30 plus new), but I can't imagine the average cadet trying to carry it fully loaded. 85 litres would have them flat on their backs just lifting it.
