I posted this on my facebook a few weeks past ...it may interest some :)

Last week before the Beachcomber course I witnessed something that I haven't seen for a long while... Shoals of mackerel swept into the bay where I was camped,
driving herring sprat into a panicked frenzy, with the water exploding into froth as the herring tried to leap to safety.
After the feeding frenzy had finished there were thousands of sprat beached among the rocks and wracks!
For the next two days, low tide brought hundreds of noisy gulls which cleaned the shoreline of the carnage - and kept me awake.....

A spectacular sight with a bit of Hitchcock thrown in at the end...
