For your consideration, I offer this 1822 (not 1872, I've been corrected) Cavalry Sabre Sword.
I bought it from a local antique militaria shop (Q & C Militaria in Cheltenham). It is shorter than it would have been originally and the end has been re-profiled accordingly. This is a proper bit of kit ! The red leather on the handle has bee replaced at some point (not by me), but this is a proper antique sword that still has an edge on it. (It bit the man in the shop when I was buying it !).
The label was what it came with when I bought it from Q & C Militaria.
It is 30.5 inches in total length and the blade is 1 inch wide. The full handle is 5.5 inches long.
