I've been eyeing up the Optimus 155w which is a cracking looking bit of kit but is it any good?

Does anyone have any experience with the 155w good or bad and is a 200 Euro price realistic?

Thanks :)

A top quality stove - one of the very best in my opinion (but not for back-packing!). Not a bad price either for a new one. If new, they come with a fair few spares, including a new burner - well worth having.

Yep very good stove... Regulated silent Burners are very very good...

Optimus / primus made some very good Marine stoves over the years such as...

If you're looking for something more portable an Optimus 22 might fit the bill. Be prepared to pay for it as well....

Nice Swedish cookset Cliff...

You might find that getting 2 111 hikers is a bit cheaper and a bit more flexible than a 2 burner liquid stove. I actually prefer 2 111's than an optimus 22 to cook on TBH.... Then there is always a Coleman Suitcase.. They are really good also....

Designed originally as a boating stove, very well made bit of kit and €200 is about the going rate; spares available from base-camp.co.uk.

I too like using a couple of 111's but vouch for the Coleman suitcase stove which is reliable, simple to use and folds up like a briefcase so very user friendly and ideal for a family or group (half the price too) I've a 40+ year old 413G Coleman and they light almost as fast as a gas stove, no priming needed.
