opinions, is this dead?

Got this out to use today, hairline crack air bubble, no sign of leak.

never had bubbles before have I killed it?

I agree, but I think they ment is this particular compass dead due to crack and bubble.
If I'v misunderstood sorry!

I've known them to work with a bubble in. Sometimes they don't.
