On a new dog walking route.... seen this bad boy! Any ideas?

Can't get any closer, it's across a ditch!

Looks like it could be Honey fungus

Possibly, however, its umbonate cap would suggest it could be Armillaria borealis - though that isn't always umbonate either. We need to see the stipe, gills, and the ring (if there is one). Also, look for the 'bootlaces' under the bark.
