I regularly run out of hair to test my blades with on my left forearm, and as I don't trust my left hand with anything sharper than a spoon often have to resort to the leg hair to check the last blade or two if I'm doing a batch of knives all in one sitting. I have recently decided that if my knife will push-cut with ease through 3 or 4 layers of 4mm leather with that lovely soft "shoook" sound, then it's probably good enough for day to day use. the trouble is, after doing the tests I can't resist giving the blade jst one oe two more wipes along the strop....
