For all of you who love the feel of soggy canvas on your bag, this might be of interest. http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/762559.pdf Basically I was looking up a piece of kit, which is probably the oldest I have as I first aquired it in the 1970's, to wit the cargo bag from a USM1945 field pack which I still use to store the two halves of a US pup tent. Some things are practically indestructible. I used to have the top half too, and a second cargo bag, as I used to use two of them as panniers on my lambretta scooter.
