A while ago I asked if you can make a sheath from Nubuck Veg Tan leather. The forum consensus was go for it and see. So I did.

It's an A4 size piece of 3.5mm Nubuck from the bay of e

I made a knife up from a Mark Hill blank and this is to be its clothes :)
I kind of thought the colour went with the reindeer antler. So here its all cut out. I used my Woodlore as a template but wanted a dangler for another option of sheath.

Thoughts and comments guys.

It's nice to the touch and looks good. It's a pain as I cannot wax it, oil it, etc or the other options. I have sprayed it with a lot of Nubuck waterproof spray.

I made some a few weeks ago for another little project (compass shroud). But you have to neutralise this once applied and I was reluctant to drench the nubuck on a first try. I debated black edging but all the colours are light on the knife so wanted to stick to brown.

Next sheath :)

Very nice, goes really well with the antler

Like Sam said, it'll take on some nice markings over time, probably go a bit shiny here and there too which will add character.

Thanks all.

It's definitely not as stiff as standard veg tan but as its a good thickness stuff it does have some weight and substance to it. Any thinner and it would be a bit too soft.

Not bad, not bad at all. You have a talent. Thank you for sharing this with us.
You asked for thoughts at the end of your post; Maybe a simple beaded or woven lanyard for the bottom hole? That is if you wanted to add something, although it looks good as is.
