Wind chill is an issue any time of the year when sitting around the communal fire of an evening. A while back I suggested that as there is plenty of coppiced Hazel in the wood, making a couple of hurdles would help deflect the wind.
well that didn't happen, but in conversation with Martin and Karl at White Rose Wood recently, I have decided to copy their idea of constructing a more permanent structure. This will take the form of 6' upright posts sunk in the ground at 4' intervals around part of the chute perimeter. These will be Infilled with smaller interwoven branches effectively forming fixed hurdles.
so, anyone willing to lend a hand in this will be welcome, as will small spades or folding shovels. This heat retention project will benefit
all of us at some time, so collectively it won't take long if you get my drift!
