been looking forward to this for ages. I know some of you use wee stoves or empty ammo crates for personal fires, has anyone got something similar spare we could borrow for the weekend? Fionn wants to try having a wee fire infront of our tent/lavvu thingumy but would need something to lessen the impact on the ground. I'm not too fussed if we can't find anything, saves me getting up every couple of hours to keep the fire warm for her

hiya red fox, location as per cliff's post, there is water on site in the form of a standpipe by the toilet block. just about all the info you need is on post 1, see you saturday then.

Sorry for late notice but life has conspired again! I may have chance to call in on Saturday but looks doubtful.

NW update;

this will be a meet of several exceptions to our normal format. if you have any issues PM me or see me at NW


there will be 1 on medical grounds.
there will be 1 on humanitarian grounds.
and there will be a relaxing of some personal fire guidlines for this winter meet only.

1/ Whittler Kev will be bringing and staying in his trailer tent on CP2


2/Hamish who has been unable to attend meets on medical grounds is finally well enough for him and Fionn to come to NW. unfortunately their little dog is very ill and needs constant attention, so rather than they miss out on this window their dog will be allowed within their tent and exercised outside the wood. this is for this meet only.



3/ personal fires;

as per post 80 due to the unusually high numbers for a Feb' meet additional areas will be opened up for pitching to reduce overcrowding of upper NW.

as an incentive to spread out, anyone pitching beyond the turn to the SSSI bridge ie opposite the urn with personal fires, will be allowed to gather deadwood for their use. once again this is for this winter meet only.

this does not apply to anyone pitching in the normal communal area.

parking;

after speaking with Robert today, we will be offloading/parking on CP2, see OP and map link for directions. however sleet or snow is expected Saturday so be prepared to have to re-locate to CP1 if this is the case. at the moment ground conditions remain relatively firm due to recent frost.
