Every day there are more and more reports of bird flu in the wild populations.
I do feed the birds, but I do scrub their feeders (with bleach!), so I'm kind of extra aware just now.
There's always a lull at this time. A kind of silence when I think last years 'older' birds quietly just sleep away....the bluetits pair up one elder to a younger and next time around that younger bird is the older one in the pairing. Experience, etc., seems to help them thrive.
Anyhow, it's really quiet this past week past. Not even the robins are singing.
It'll change and they'll be full of song again, but just now, it almost seems like they've all gone.
