...took my son's video camera out to play with, as i have been determined to record the nightingale...and after a few false starts, finally managed this at 23.30 tonight...excuse the shakes but having moved house a year ago, I still haven't located my tripod...link below...

Beautiful! (Steady too, considering there was no tripod!) Thought I'd heard the last of these when we had to move out of the 'proper' countryside last autumn. But we're close to the edge of a small-town estate, and I heard one last night - couldn't believe it, had to go out in the back garden to make sure.

Blinding Stovie....I'm too far north unfortunately but maybe I'll step up my efforts on my next trip to Sussex at the end of May (assuming they're still singing at that point of the breeding season)
