Today being my wife's birthday (she's 22, again ), I asked what she wanted to do today. She replied "Drive up to mid-Wales to visit the charity shop in Rhayader".

Yes, she's a high maintenance kind of woman, my Tracy.

So, we did. Just inside the door of the shop were a few old books. I had a look, and my eye was caught by "The adventures of Sajo and her beaver people" by Grey Owl, in the 4th edition, 1935. On the inside of the cover is a cut out from the Daily Telegraph, Saturday April 9th 1988, about the 50th anniversary of the death of Grey Owl.

I bought it for the princely sum of £1

The book is aimed at children, but I'm going to give it a good reading myself.

I'm extremely pleased with my find, although I don't expect it to be a rarity or anything like that
