Yes, Lamnia and Peltonen are both companies of Mr. Juha Ikonen, located at the same place in Lapeenranta.

As i was already in conversation with Juha I took the chance to ask him...

Hi Jason,

Great to hear everything arrived and that you’re happy with the knife and scarf, thank you!

Regarding the handle: we still have the handles made at the same workshop as before (the same place that has produced them for over 20 years). We haven’t changed to a new manufacturer.

What we have done is update the injection mold a couple of years ago. During that update we removed the text from the handle, simply because we feel the handle looks cleaner without it. The new mold also improved the finish noticeably: the molding seam/line is now almost invisible. On older handles you could see and feel that line, especially around the textured grip area.

We also made a very small adjustment to the material formulation to improve grip, but it’s still the same handle concept and produced by the same workshop.

Kind regards,

Juha Ikonen

I think this is pointless after the handle has been altered, any warranty will be void.
Probably this sadly. It's still functional and doesn't appear to want to actually come off.

I love the handle shape but if you're doing a lot of carving power cuts in reverse grip or various other things where you're using the knife for a period of time all of that jumping like pattern gets very uncomfortable in your hand if you don't like using gloves.

I live in the tropics so my use as well as how I'm dressed gloves or not is probably a lot different than most of you.
