My youngest has just come back from a month in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. I've tried DEET before and didn't like it much so I sent him with a bottle of this stuff. The reports are very favourable. In a back to back test with DEET against ants on their kit, the DEET melted through a rucksack
. This stuff killed the ants with no side effects 
. All areas that it was applied to were left well alone, but the bits that were missed weren't. Stings a bit on the first application, but wasn't noticable again. Smells a bit fruity, which for a bunch of teenagers wasn't very cool, but they survived. He's back in good health, buzzing louder than a mozzie. Thanks.

Deet does not work against them, Nordic Summer does not work against them for long, Smidge works for a little while against them, Avon SSS does not work against them
