One of my earliest knives was a nessmuk. It wasn't my most successful knife ever and I've always wanted to revisit the style. Last week I was trawling the internet for knife pics when I came across the BRKT Canadian Special. I liked the look of the blade (but not the finger grooves on the handle) but not having the money to buy one I decided to get out into the garage and make one. So here is my Canadian Bowback/Nessmuk/Bushcraft hybrid.
It's 3mm 01 tool steel with mystery wood handle with white fibre spacers and silversteel pins. I really don't know what the wood is as I got it from a firewood dealer. He gets a big container of logs up from a tree surgeon in London a couple of times a year and digs out anything that looks pretty. He thought it was walnut but I'm not so sure.
It's only sanded and needs oiling and sharpening still.
