The Nessmuk knife is supposed to be used in combination with two other tools; a folding knife and a double bit axe. The axe head has one narrow end for chopping/felling, and one fatter end for splitting, so the knife isn't required to perform either of these tasks, unlike many bushcraft knifes which are used for battoning. Similarly, the folding knife can be used for detail carving and the like, so the Nessmuk knife doesn't have to be as precise. Hence, Nessmuk was able to make this knife more "dedicated", and it's mostly for butchering I believe. It has a relatively thin blade for slicing, and a profile suited to skinning and the like.
I think that's all right
Peace!
