Hi here is a Nessmuk type knife I have been planning for a wee while.

1070 steel 2mm thick
Scandi grind but with a convex edge for strength
Full tang
6mm brass pins and 6mm lanyard hole
9.5 inch total with a 5inch blade and 4.5 inch handle
The handle is made form maple burl from Canada, oiled and waxed.

Its silly sharp it slipped out my hand when waxing it and brushed passed my other hand and I am still bleeding and I did it yesterday morning. :)

I like it, I think that shape blade would flay quite large hides comfortably. The handle looks well fitted and well shaped to work with as well as looking good.
keep em coming. :D :D :D

Where abouts does the balance point lie? and what sort of weight are we talking, particularly at the front of the blade? I'm thinking in terms of use for heavier chopping tasks.

The point of balance is just where the handle ends and the blade starts. I think its called a neutral balance.

I notice that with your knife the handle is not as much angled upwards as is the case with the "original design".
Maybe you had more general use and skinning in mind as kitchen chores?
Anyway a nice enough blade and you get a pm from me.
