not quite bushcrafty, but i want to start cooking my own dog food for my increasing pack.i want to do it in the backyard due to smell, and not wanting to hog a gas ring on the kitchen cooker.i would prefer a solid fuel cooker as i can get firewood, and have coal due to open fire in front room.i dont want to be stuck with gas running out,and with petrol prices,it rules out the coleman cooker i was thinking of buying.i do have a oildrum style bbq,has anyone used these with firewood /coal before ,i did consider a secondhand castiron woodburner type affair.i will be using either a large saucepan or a stockpot and it will be butchers waste, reduced to clear meat, rice, pasta vegetables, spuds, bread, stock etc aiming for a stew type of food.any input and ideas/designs i can steal would be appreciated, thanks nigel.
