NATO Watch Strap ?

Anyone know if / how to mend a Frayed NATO Watch Strap, As this is the 1st one that's done this in many many yr's of wear on my wrist.

If its a standard nylon one, presumably melt it?

Are you able to share a photo? I think the answer may depend on the degree of fraying and where it is located relative to the watch.

Yeah the standard Nylon 1. I have just Melted it slightly, And I was thinking of just putting a Over Sew on the 2'' section where it goes through the Loops and Buckle.
Just wanted to check if my method to fix it for now wouldn't make worse.
