Beautiful.

I'd like to see the same scales with White fibre and silver pins.

Really nice job I might give bone like that a go as I need to re-scale my F1, as the Thuja scales I have on it have developed a fine crack on one side.

I like it better without the finger guard. Very nice knife there.

Was the stabilised bone easy to work with?

Yeah it was a little easier to work than hard woods

is it very smooth or contoured

Both, it is smooth but has a slight porus surfice where the black acrylic couldnt get in. But i sanded and sealed so all is well.

Very nice Ash - how much did you thin it down?

A lot! it is like a razor

One question why did you removed the fingerguard?

Because i have no need for one, i dont ever use a stabbing motion with knives .

Cheers for all the comments guys, got the scales from per. Dont get too excited though they where nealy as expensive as the blade

Well my personal situation has changed and i think that there are plenty of good makers out there and my super cheap knives dont help them make a living. and my part time hobby shouldnt change that. So i am only going to make knives now and then!

I used a 1" linisher with a slack 240 grit belt and gently pushed the whole surface of th blade against the belt.

It took an age because i didnt want to ruin the temper

i'm guessing you only did it near the edge as the logo is still there. i guess doing something like that is only worth it with power tools, would take ages by hand!

I dont think it would be too bad mate, it is laminated so the sides are quite soft. The edge would take a while though
