A costrel is a fairly large leather bottle, or flask, with some loops attached so it can be carried o the belt or aroud the neck. Can be flat o the bottom so it can stand, just like ordinary bottle. It's hot waxed to make it waterproof.

Darn good job you done on that one, Tengu. How much can it take?

Looks well cool. Out of interest, how long can water be stored in a ....costrel then?. Would it keep as long as it would in a plastic or metal water bottle?

One of the advantages of keeping water in a waxed leather bottle is that it can last for ages. Because there is no light getting in, it doesn't go off like water in a clear bottle will.
