I have been a member for a few months - just lurking in the background reading and learning, thought it was about time I posted and said "Hi"
Have to say, im a big Mr Mears fan. I think he is an insperation, especially to the younger generation. My 4 year old daughter likes to watch his programms (I have 3 of his DVD's), lets hope my 7 month old son follows her lead! I also have a Ray Mears book.
Still getting to grips with lots of stuff (fire lighting, feather sticks etc, etc), although I must say I lit my first fire today using 100% natural materials and a firesteel.
I have a pic of my kit but cant work out how to post it? Will work it out and add later if poss but in consists of the following:
Light my fire firesteel
Frosts Mora
SOG Flash 2
Axe (cheap thing from Screwfix with hickory handle, 1 1/4 lb)
Machete (Found it in my Dad's garage, its a Martingdale no2 - well used)
SAK (Trekka I think?) fairly new, impulse purchase after reading something on here!
SAK - My EDC (Explorer - I have owned this for the last 22 years)
Whitby & Co locking folder, 3" blade with "Five Star" on it (again, owned for 20+ years)
