Mount Aurin and mushrooms

Hi all,
today a very light trekking 3 h on Mount Aurin (a big hill, actually, just 745 mslm), just near my house
start is from church of Mugnai village

15 min and we arrive to this water, old people said when this "hair" is on the water, water is not drinkable

today my knife is the Scrap Yard MUK


on the woods, many mushrooms

PS The second brown fungus might be a poisonous rimroll (Paxillus???)

Oh OK, I can see that now. Fair one.

But the picture got me thinking about the woods surrounding the local scout campsite, where there are a lot of live birch trees where some people have harvested the bark right down to the wood i.e. not leaving the inner bark intact. This obviously makes a really unsightly mess and causes considerable damage to the tree. My bet is that the perps aren't hooligans, and have either seen a bushcraft "personality" do it on TV or seen it on the internet but, crucially, they don't realise that the inner bark has to be left intact.

Personally, I only collect birch sheets like that from dead trees, as i don't think I would trust myself to take it from a live tree without causing damage to the tree.
