After watching the excellent video posted yesterday about how canoes are built I decided to do a little searching on it this evening, and came across this superb public information film from
Minnesota. I think it's a superb film, but it'll require a little more than ten minutes of your time; I'm sure you'll find it a very rewarding way to spend an hour.

Just awesome !
What a beautiful project.
Learning new skills and passing on millennia of traditional craft knowledge.
Everyone chipping in to create something so beautiful.

The way that guy beats on the "delicate" canoe 😵like a rented mule , really illustrates how natural materials are still viable alternatives to carbon fibre and plastic.

Interesting that they chose a polyurethane glue instead of the pitch but perfectly executed and if it means less maintenance then it's a no brainer and the right choice !

Thoroughly enjoyed that!
Good find...
Thanks for sharing ! 👍👍
