I am going to be in Montrose (Scotland) for a couple of nights (Mon/Tue next week), the beach looks interesting (Sand martin etc) anyone ever had a wonder along it? is there anything else to see?
St Cyrus beach is always good as it's a lot more deserted than Montrose. It can be a suntrap because of the high cliffs. It's just a few miles up the coast.
I've got fond memories of the East coast. I hope you have a lovely time there!..
I intend to head to st cyrus on tuesday evening, as for trespass law etc, I will be staying in the links hotel as I am there on buisness really, so should have it covered ;@)
If you are interested in birdlife there is a sanctuary and viewing station at the south side of Montrose basin (there is an entrance fee). It's not an RSPB one, I think it's run by the Scottish Wildlife Trust.
