Hello all, this is my first real post on this forum. Modifying my own gear has been something I have always done, perhaps it's because I'm left-handed and nothing seemed to be built for me. This Romanian rucksack has been my latest project. It has good bones of canvas and leather which allowed me to make a few modifications for my needs. In the first picture you can see that it can also be piggybacked with a Polish bread bag to the main flap. I am rarely out for more than a few nights at a time so this size bag was perfect. Last week I returned from a trip in southern Costa Rica (where I live) helping and indigenous tribe on their reservation with medical calls. During the 5-day trip the rucksack performed great with no hot spots or threads popping. It is now an internal frame with a detachable waist belt and the padded shoulder straps are fully adjustable. This is the first time that I have ever used surplus European military gear and I am very impressed with the durability!

I can't wait to take this new (to me) pack out again!

That looks a great rig! well done for modifying it - I love seeing how people take a piece of standard issue gear and modify it to their own personal requirements.

You are however unintentionally teasing me with a few slim photos of the Jungle greenery behind.... Loving the look of that bridge. :)

Keep the posts coming!!!
