I finally bit the bullet and modified my mora spoon knives by fitting new bigger handles

This was the first one, with a beech handle. It is around a foot long now and about an inch diameter. The original 163 gives an idea of the new size. I simply made a rebate for the blade which was epoxed and capped, then wrapped with linen twine

Both knives together 162 has a beech handle, 163 has a chestnut handle

I used waxed linen seine twine, very strong, it simply doesnt snap

There is no doubt that for me these modification's are an improvement. The factory fit handles were too small for my liking. I now have greatly increased torque and control. They have a much more solid heavier feel. I have used the 162 with a neck strap, which opens up even more possibilities for additional leverage and fine control of power cut's...
Thanks for looking, cheers Jonathan :)
