Microscopic plastic debris from washing clothes is accumulating in the marine environment and could be entering the food chain, a study has warned.
Researchers traced the "microplastic" back to synthetic clothes, which released up to 1,900 tiny fibres per garment every time they were washed.

I've just been reading about that in the paper,
Not surprised really, fleece is made from recycled milk bottles (it's a beautiful fibre, spins very smoothly) and the sheer amount of stuff that collects on the tumble drier filter is astonishing.

Kind of scary though; the way we're covering the world in plastic
