Hi all
Just a belated update and huge thank you to all who contributed to my thread in the first aid forum about advice on dealing with a birth.
I'm now a proud dad of a lovely little girl who was born in hospital over the course of a few days.
All the advice I received here was great to have in my mind throughout the final part of the pregnancy when we were out and about. I always like to know how to deal with a situation if needs be, rather than just presume there's someone to hand over to at the end of a phone (as Mr H says, 'specialisation is for insects')
We also did a baby and child first aid course run by the Red Cross which I'd advise all parents to do. It's quite (tragically ) funny that there's a huge market in breathing sensors for babies, most of which are bought by parents who would have no idea what to do if they ever go off. (then again I think first aid should be on the national curriculum but that's a whole other thread)
I'm happy to say that we got out into the woods when she was just ten days old and put the buggy through its paces.
So nice to have the first of what promises to be many times of introducing a little person to the sounds, smells and wonder of the outdoors I love so much.
