Microsoft Surface Pro 3, in very good condition. 12-inch display with a resolution of 2,160 by 1,440 (3:2 aspect ratio), Intel i7 processor (1.7GHz), Intel Graphics HD5000; 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD (plus there’s a micro SD port which will allows up to 256GB additional storage (maybe more as higher capacity cards become available). Comes with Type Cover keyboard and Pro 3 stylus, and will be boxed in the original Microsoft delivery packaging.
The screen has been protected by a screen protector (tempered glass) since Day One. The screen protector is included. The keyboard shows signs (shiny keys) of use, but all the keys work properly. The OS is Windows 10, last updated when I did a factory reset on the machine, so it’s ready to be set up by its new owner.
I’ve used this from new as a desktop replacement and run power-hungry applications like Photoshop and Lightroom on it – no significant processing power issues with either, even when working on 50MB RAW images. I’m selling it because I’ve upgraded to the Surface Pro 2017 i7 / 256GB / 8GB. The data storage capacity and RAM are quite adequate, but if more storage is needed you can add external storage and/or OneDrive or other cloud facility. I used (and continue to use on the new machine) a 128GB micro SD card, a Samsung 512GB external flash drive attached via USB3 port on the dock (dock not included in this sale but you can pick one up on Ebay for about £20 – it’s well worth doing) and my OneDrive account.
Battery life is good, depending on what you’re trying to do. If you’re offline and using the Pro 3 to read stored material or play video, it’ll last for a long flight – 5 – 6 hours comfortably. If you’re on wifi and using Photoshop, hey – be reasonable! Several hours. I’m not aware of any charge capacity issues beyond what you'd expect; but let’s face it; the battery isn’t likely to be as efficient as it was when new, and I'm not offering a warranty on it.
I'd like £450 inc. fees and delivery, please.
In a week's time, if unsold, I'll put it on Ebay. Meantime, any questions, holler! Thanks for looking.
