I have a quick question.
I see you guys often refer to "meths" as fuel for spiritburners.
Is "meths" short for methanol, or ist it short for methylated ethanol?

'Meths' is generally used to refer to methylated spirits (or methylated ethanol as you put it - same thing).

However, methanol is increasingly being used as a stove fuel as it is cheaper than methylated spirits. The lower energy output of methanol is no real problem and a little more care in the handling is required as methanol is rather more toxic than metylated spirits.
