Massive Sweet Chestnut

Today i found the biggest tree ive ever seen it was a sweet chestnut and i marked its location on my map
we spoke to a man who was also there and he said it was there when henry VIII was alive and is over 500 years old
im going back tommorow to measure the trunk

the pics make it look small but believe me its not lol

one at base, one higher up ?

Hi Leon,

If you can measure the girth at 1.5m that would be good.

As BorderReiver says, pop over to Ancient tree hunt and see if you can add it to the database there.
