I'm just wondering how many of you have taken a fresh skin (or killed the animal yourself) worked it through to a usable leather and the used it and what did you use it for?
I've never done the whole thing, i've done parts of it but never the complete process. What's got me thinking is the Blood, Sweat and Luxuries on iPlayer, 2. Leather, it's not surprising how commercial leather is made but it does seem very detached from how we live and we take a lot for granted.
I know there's many different ways of preparing leather and many different uses so i'm just wondering what you do with it.
