hi, am new to using a mac and fr some reason when i can get onto bcuk i cant get to the individual threads the pages just wont load - im getting pointed at javascript probs? im networked with my pc which has no probs but also bcuk is the ONLY forum site im having probs with - ive cleared my secure data / cookies etc anyone any pointers please as i reckon its something simple
cheers

what browser are you using? I was using firefox and could not get on at all, explorer was better but safari is fine. (I know nothing about computers but my wife sorted it for me)

firefox i just prefer it to safari hmm interesting thought tho?

: update - Safari works fine so this is obviously a firefox issue - thanks for that

Now anyone good with firefox??

My current workaround for Robin & myself is to have a BCUK link on our desktops which is set to open with Safari but to retain Firefox as default. If someone could fix the Firefox issue it'd be fab as for everything else it's better!

Well I have tested the site on windows and unix (BSD and Linux) and both have no problem with the site using firefox, so I guess it has something to do with the Mac version of Firefox. I'm afriad this will have to wait until I get access to a Mac and can have a good poke about with it..... Its on the bug list, but it may take some time before i get hold of a mac.

I'm also having a bit of a 'mare with BCUK and my Apple Mac, running OS 10.4.10. It just hangs when I click on individual forum links, then eventually asks me if I want to open a .php file.

It's not happening all the time, just most of the time. The problem is mainly with Firefox, but it does stick with Internet Explorer and Safari too, although not as often. Seems a bit random. I never had the problem before the site redesign, and it doesn't do it on BritishBlades. Or any other site, actually.

Oddly enough, never have the problem from my Apple Mac at work, which just has Safari and is running 10.4.8. Which makes me think it's either a Java problem in 10.4.10, or a Firefox Mac thing.

Is that any help? Probably not. Sigh.

Michael.
