Is there any difference between these two books (ie, is it worth having both):

Ray Mears - Essential Bushcraft (blue cover, pic of Ray walking on grass on the left with 4 small pics on the right).

Ray Mears - Bushcraft Survival (Pic of Ray cooking on the cover).

Ones a show how to and the other accompanys the tv series telling the same stories.

'Essential Bushcraft' (2003) is a 'pocket' version of 'Bushcraft' (2002). It was produced in response to requests for a smaller and more portable version of 'Bushcraft'. Whilst essentially the same there has been some editing and additional images added.

'Bushcraft Survival' (2005) is a tie-in to his TV series of the same name. As with his other tie-in publications it provides useful info relating to each programme plus additional background info and anecdotes.

That's the one i've got. A good book and handy for taking with you on hikes/camps. Not as small as the collins Gems series such as the SAS Guide etc, but thin and small(ish)
