We are undertaking a 155 mile trek in memory of my father in law, Mr Howard Perrin, to raise as much money as possible for Kirkwood Hospice.

Howard died after a long & for sometime successful battle against Leukaemia, Kirkwood provided respite care & support for Howard & the family during the last months, allowing him to pass on with dignity & a loving family around him.

The walk will be done over 6 days easter 2012 following the Pennine Way, Limestone Way, Dane Valley Way, The Cheshire Ring Water-way, Crewe & Nantwich Walk, Shropshire Union Canal, Bishop Bennett Way, & the Offa's Dyke Path in order to get to the exact location of Howard's birth the Raven Inn Welshpool.

The events Itinerary:


Monday, 21miles, up hill, end point Crowden.
(Could push on to reduce next day?)


Tuesday, 28.5 miles, up & over Kinder, end point a6 Buxton.


Wednesday, 27.5 miles, Hilly start mostly Down hill, end point a34 Hall Green (near Y&D Reid).




Thursday, 29 miles, Flat Day, end point a41 Milton Green


Friday, 26 miles, flat climbing slightly hilly end, end point B4500 Pen-y-bryn.


Saturday, 16.25 miles, Hilly start, downhill to flat, end point Trederwen Lane, Trederwen. Rhos Royal.


Sunday 10 miles, Flat slightly climbing, End the Raven.
(Kept short for people to join us for a day out?)

I am looking for prospective places to put the team up overnight on route, like the scout hut for a night scheme, village hall or even a field to camp in?

Tuesday, 10 April, end point a6 Buxton.

Wednesday,11 April, end point a34 Hall Green (near Rhode Heath).

Thursday, 12 April, end point a41 Milton Green

Friday, 13 April, end point B4500 Pen-y-bryn.

Saturday, 14 April, end point Trederwen Lane, Trederwen. Rhos Royal.
