Just made this up for my daughter. First attempt at one like this. She's happy and that's what matters most...

Started with a chunk of old lawnmower blade. Forged it out. Cut in sections. Pointed stock for blade. Roughly forged out blade. Drew out handle. Twisted handle. Refined blade. Bent handle around. Filed and heat treated...

Looks great! How does it cut? What did you use for quenchant?

Thanks, all! David, I heat treated it like I do all my knives, quenching in warm canola oil. I didn't want to make it too sharp, but it's sharp enough that mom makes daughter wear a leather glove. Here's her first little project with it. I rubbed coffee grounds in it to make it stand out more.
