After water food can become heavy on an expedition ,
Ok theres boil in the bag rations but there heavy loads of water content and of course US MRE ( meal ready to eat ) rations the problem I find with these is the menus are a bit YUK for my tastes ( good spoon though )

It would be handy to have a list of lightweight foods that could be used on expedition ,

Broth mix ( loads of different pulses )
Rice ( remember to wash it first as it removes some of the starch )
Pasta
Wraps
garlic salt
salt
Italian seasoning
Porage oats
rasians
nuts
choc ( not light but loads of energy )
powdered milk
powdered egg
flour ( bannock )
suger
tea bags
coffee ( real deal stuff or 3 in 1 packets )
chilli powder
sausage the lidls one ( high in fat loads of energy )
tomoto puree ( pasta dishes )
garlic puree
pepper
condensed milk tubes
pudding rice ( add milk and suger = rice pudd )
noddles
dried onions
Mash potato powder
OXO type cubes (remember bullion cubes contain loads of salt )
Jam ( the small containers that you blag from service stations )
cheese sause mix ( pasta dishs )
primula cheese
cooking oil ( small tube )

OK I know most of above will need water but a stream or gypsy well plus millbank bag and boil would sort that out .

There enough there to keep anyone happy in the sticks for a couple of days

Lets face it good food = good morale

My bannock kit
Stock cubes
Beef and venison jerky
