Afternoon

I have a watch which i like but the metal strap has gone, and to expensive to replace.

Went to to see if i could replace with a leather one but they said there is one that will fit the lug width as it has been designed to fit the metal strap it self.

what i was wondering if it would be possible to get one made for it buy one of flea bay and alter.

Reason i am asking you lot is with all the leather work you do you may have more of an idea than me and see if it possible or not.

Was thinking of something on these lines

There should be loads available for it. Search on ebay/amazon/Cousins etcc for a band with the correct lug width. On the watch i'm wearing at the moment any 22mm band would fit, unless you have a watch with a complex design this should be the same i believe, only the lug size would change.

Edit;

Cousins are doing them cheap at the moment:- https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/military-leather

Personally I make my own along the lines of a trouser belt in miniature!
The strap goes over the bail, under the watch, over the bail and buckles up .. no fuss, no muss :)
This type of strap has the added advantage of keeping the watch-back off my skin .. I find I get a rash from having a watch against me 24/7...
The top link is similar but with a cuff type backing.
A simple one could just be cut to fit your watch from 2mm veg tan and a suitable buckle sewn on ...
