I'm just about to place an order from the identity store for bits to finish my axe collar.

I thought I'd get some leather to make a knife sheath as well (mora classic soon to be re handled).

I'm planning on a simple sheath and wet forming it around the blade and lower half of handle but don't know what thickness i should get.

also is there any way to fit press studs without forking out £20 for a specific tool?

Any help/advice?

2.5-3mm is a good thickness for a sheath.

The identity store is a great place, the people are lovely and I support it regularly with purchases, especially from their leather sale.

BUT

Buy your press stud setting tool off ebay and you'll save about £15.

Snap Stud tool and anvil for just over six quid at ID store (8057.00 + 8056.00) and if your buying your leather from them you will save a postage cost from elsewhere. It's what I used on my small axe mask.
