Leather stamping help needed !!

I need some advice guys

I'm trying to use letter and number stamps on leather, it's not a lot, just a name and date of birth. My question is.......

How do i line up the stamps so that its all in a straight line ? ! is there a template i can make or something or is it all practice and by eye ?

any help really gratefully recieved.

Just lightly clamp a straight edge over the leather robbi and put all your stamps up to it

Hi mate what I do is stamp the first letter, and leave that in place, them move to the next letter, and place that next to the one that's left, in the stamp mark you have just made.
and you will have perfectly lined marks.

how do you leave it in place Lee ? do you have something with a slot in it so the stamps stand upright ?

The Stamps I have, have a removable handle mate?
if yours do not as I have some like this also, I used gaffs tape, to hold them together and did it that way.

where do you get the ones with the removable handle bit ? ( if you don't mind me asking )
