Leather Cover for Moleskine Travel Journal

I picked up a couple of Moleskine travel journals going cheap (£5 each) at Staples a while back and thought that they would make good bushy notebooks as they have no lines - good for sketching, I thought.

This is the overcoat I made for them:

I used goatskin for the bit that holds the journal in and also for the wrap-around closure:

Just got to learn to sketch now...

That looks great! I'm planning to make a journal for my sister (including the paper). Can I ask how you put the designs on?

The designs are laser engraved onto the leather. Not very traditional, but I am a Design and Technology teacher and since I have the machine available at school, it would seem pointless not to take advantage of it...
