what do you mean, elaborate, do you mean cordage made from two or more leather strips the yes the twisting process is the same

Then basically it is the same.

If you are using naturally tanned leather, cut a long thong by whatever method you prefer and soak it in water.

I usually pin one end to something and then roll the other end between my palms to get a fast twist.

when it is about as tight as you think it will go. pinch the middle and bring the loose end to the pinned end then let go of the middle.

It should twist itself up but I usually add some more twists while it is still wet for good measure.
