I was lucky enough to buy a Lars Falt knife from here and I was a looking for a right hand carry sheath for it and was very surprised to find a kydex option.
Is it just me or does that seem odd for a Traditional wooden handled style bushcraft.
Anybody own or used 1 just out of interest.
Cheers

It is my preference for practical use - no water issues, light, secure. Only issue being noise, and of course it lacks the character and bushcrafty feel of a leather sheath, but when choosing, I always go kydex if it's offered.

Yes it was the mix of the 2 materials which I found odd, old with the new I guess.
I know the benefits of kydex it just caught me that Casstrom would have made 1 for this knife to begin with customer requests I imagine

It could also be that a leather option may now simply cost too much for many people to consider? You'd expect a certain level of quality, and it might just be too cost prohibitive if e.g. a supplier/maker has changed or the like. So the kydex offers another price point option.

Hugh would you mind sending me a picture of the Kydex sheath you use please as the 1's on ebay I've looked at would have to be modified so I could wear a Dangler.
I'm just trying to figure out if having 1 of those made to my spec's would be a good option or trying to make it myself.
Cheers

Casstrom have a standard option of Kydex sheath for the No. 10 Swedish Forest knife which is a similar size to the Lars Falt knife, so perhaps it was this one?

The SFK comes in a range of variations if you buy from Casstrom directly- different grinds, handle materials, blade materials and Kydex or leather sheath).
